Spirulina is a type of algae that grows in fresh or salt water and it is a true force of nature! It’s extremely rich in vitamins, minerals amino acids, and antioxidants, all of which can help to improve energy levels, lower blood pressure, and decrease inflammation in the body. The quality of the protein in blue spirulina is considered excellent and provides all of the essential amino acids that your body needs.
Ingredients:
2 frozen bananas
1 cup of frozen cauliflower
1 cup of frozen mango
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
⅓ cup of coconut water
1 teaspoon of blue spirulina powder (green spirulina can also work as a substitute)
Optional smoothie bowl toppings; mango, chia seeds, sliced banana, mint, coconut chips, blueberries
Directions:
- Blend all smoothie ingredients in a high-powered blender. Add more coconut water if you need more liquid to blend effectively. Pour the smoothie into 2 bowls, and decorate with toppings of your choice.
