Cleaning your toothbrush

Family Health Diary

When was the last time you cleaned your toothbrush? Most of us don’t tend to think about cleaning our toothbrush very often. Toothbrushes can harbour a lot of bacteria and electric toothbrush heads, in particular, have nooks and crannies that need a good clean often. It is a good idea to do this once a week using the below DYC Vinegar solution, also remember to rinse your brush after every use and let it air dry.

Ingredients:

2 Tablespoons DYC White Vinegar

1/2 Cup warm water

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:

  1. Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Place toothbrush into mixture and soak for half an hour.
  3. You can use an old toothbrush to give it a bit of a scrub – particularly electric toothbrushes in the nooks and crannies.
  4. Rinse in water and leave to dry.
